Back to the snooze…

So who else is excited about the new version of iLife coming out?

I think my excitement stems off of the recent purchase of my Flip camera, and trying to make something tangible out of random family clips. So go get one already. From the demos, it seems like iMovie is going to be able to do just that. Which is good, cause it’s hard making a watchable video out of family clips. And thankfully we’re afforded that luxury as oppossed to the olden days when pops would just leave the camera on the tripod for Christmas. You had to botch through the slew of footage for a few key moments.

Thank you Apple. I’m excited.

If anyone wants to go in on a family pack for it, let me know. It’s good for five, and will reduce our cost immensely.

So the Steve has a new release out. I’m rather fond of our selection and overall product. You can check it out here, forskinnysteve.

Other than that i don’t have much excitement on this end. Just back to the ol’ grindstone, which for some reason is a little bit harder than i would imagaine. I’m ready and excited about work, it’s just getting back into the mindset of it all.

I watched Rushmore last night in an attempt to find out why everyone hails that as Anderson’s best, and i still stick by my claim that Tenenbaum’s is his best. Rushmore is good, but it comes off like he’s still trying to find his style, and with a story like that, leans towards the more awkward. I mean by the end of Tenenbaum’s, you’re rooting for a brother and sister to find love, sincerely. Yet in Rushmore, it feels a bit more forced. Which goes to show his storytelling and directing style was finally mastered.

But i still think Bottle Rocket to be one of his best, as that story was so good, and his finding of his style was accepted because of the story.

That’s just me i suppose.

This new year is to bring good things, and i’m ready.

And a year closer to the end of the Mayan Calendar. Let’s do it!

Onward!

Where do you do it and where do you don’t?

So i went home for Christmas, and it was pleasant. I had a great time. I miss getting to hang out with my mother, and thankfully with our declining economy, i was able to stay for 6 days and not pay an arm and a leg. I’m working on a little video of the recaps, but i would imagine it not being anything valuable to anyone that isn’t in the video. So i would stay away.

When you end up watching it, don’t say i didn’t tell you so.

I figure i’d do some features and i’d do some clips. I need to pay respect to my Vimeo account and i think that’s the best way to do so.

I got sucked into a MLM meeting tonight, yet again reiterating the fact that they are the biggest waste of time you could posssibly imagine. I’m going to come up with a MLM of my own and figure out a way to make that Trillion dollars that will take me to the moon and back 12 times. How do you like me now?

And while i’m bitching it up, what’s with neck tattoos? You used to not see those for days, and when you did you would hold your ladies close and hope they didn’t enter your personal space. They had respect. They had nostalgia. But when you can find neck tattoos on primetime television , you know it ain’t as tough as it used to be.

Grow some balls people. Get your eye tattoo-ed and get it over with.

The white fog monster is about to swallow my house from the ocean.

You better not have a neck tattoo.

Love me.

So i finished the Master Cleanse on Thursday night and weighed myself in at 166lbs. That’s pretty good considering i weighed in at 179lbs.

And for some reason i keep weighing in at a pound less then what i stopped with.

I’m almost done with Lost. I’m in the middle of Season 3.

And i’ve also gotten a Flip MinoHd and it’s been nothing but wonderful, for people that know me. I’m able to get a Vimeo account now with credibility, so check me out at http://vimeo.com/nobodyiscertain

I’ll notice you’re there.

Love you.

Well i’m officially on day 7 of the Master Cleanse/fast, again. I’m feeling good. A week ago i weighed in around 179lbs. Ugh. I figured it was time to do something before it got any worse. We’ll have to wait and find out the results on Thursday. I’ll report back.

In the meantime, I’ve been keeping myself busy with various things. Looks like the Steve is going to be doing another release for a couple of bands around the OC area. Hoping for a Pre-Christmas launch as they head out for tour In January.

I’ve recently updated my Flickr account. I guess i’ve had one for a while now but never did anything with it. But my dear friend Andy wished for me to use it more. And so i have. James’ Flickr

Got a little Christmas shopping done this weekend. More to go, but have made a little dent. Got some sweet coats for the nieces. They’ll be styling.

I’m excited the Christmas season is here. I’ll be back the 23rd - 29th.

That’s all i’ve got for now.

Home. O’sexual.

I know. A bum in the true sense.

A little recap for those interested.

I’ve moved to a little nook by the sea. And by nook, i mean about half that size. But the view is wonderful. San Clemente is a neat little town, and i’m enjoying it.

Come visit. You’ll have fun.

I started a little record label called forskinnysteve. Check it out here. You can see the store here.

We’ve only got one release as of yet, but am working on another one.

I also have It’s 7:42 living on the web again. You should swing by and make a contribution. And i’m in the process of fixing it so it doesn’t blow you up everytime your submission goes live.

There’s a crash course. As more happens i’ll keep you posted.

Avoid This.

July 5th, 2008

So if you ever get a chance to see the “film” Tweek City, AVOID IT!

It’s a pathetic attempt at something that should be put on screen.

Tweek City.

The main character is highly unconvincing. The story is pathetic. Hopefully the director/writer will be tempted to avoid making anything ever again.

I even watched more than half of it with the director commentary to give the film a break and maybe see if there was something i missed. It did nothing but seal the deal on my complete disgust for it.

Seriously, cut it out.

Coot Ranal.

Well, i’ve been waiting for it. And the complete lack of sleep last night due to pain, finally made me suck it up and get it done.

An unexpected root canal. As Andy so nicely put it, “Make them numb you till you can’t feel your brain!!!!!” I did. And i didn’t feel much of anything. All the anguish was nothing more than a little anxiety in the ol’ noggin.

I will say however, while i didn’t feel much pain, the only thing that was a little taxing was that it took a freakin’ hour and a half. Quite the procedure. Not sure if that’s standard protocol or if my lack of attention to my chipped tooth for the last five years caused it. What ever the case may be, while it wasn’t pleasant, it definitely wasn’t intolerable.

It is expensive though. Especially if you don’t have dental insurance as i conveniently do not. But i did manage to snag an X-Ray you can see below. That’s my tooth with a whole bunch of stuff crammed in it courtesy of the Doc.

Tooth X-Ray

I’m also unexpectedly moving in a couple of weeks to my own place! It’s tiny but it’s in a neat little town and close to the new job.

Visitations are in order now that i’m without roommates!

I’ll keep you posted on that front.

A week until a crown procedure and then finally i’ll get to chew with my whole mouth again!

Imagine that!

Slack it off.

June 18th, 2008

Well good evening kind sirs. And what a fine evening it was!

I’ve been working myself to the bone here recently if i do say so myself, and decided tonight, was a night off.

In my night off i managed to accomplish the following:

  • Read a little in my Money Magazine
  • Play a little guitar
  • Record for my first time with Garage Band and my built in Mac Microphone
  • Watched The Royal Tenenbaums… Twice. Once normal. Once with commentary.
  • Made a mess

Here’s evidence of the excitement.

Night Off Evening.

Ouch.
