Avoid This.
July 5th, 2008
So if you ever get a chance to see the “film” Tweek City, AVOID IT!
It’s a pathetic attempt at something that should be put on screen.
The main character is highly unconvincing. The story is pathetic. Hopefully the director/writer will be tempted to avoid making anything ever again.
I even watched more than half of it with the director commentary to give the film a break and maybe see if there was something i missed. It did nothing but seal the deal on my complete disgust for it.
Seriously, cut it out.

Well last weekend I went on a bit of a record buying spree as i was rather excited to rummage around Laguna Beach’s UnderDog Records, but come to find out they have gone out of business. With all the record stores going out of business, there is no longer a place to finger glance tangible records anymore.
What is one to do?
Well, turn to the beast that managed to kill all these record stores in the first place…
The Internet.
So i bought one CD and two 7-inches. And the first of these three have managed to roll in. And what an absolute delight the experience was.
The Gears Today and Tomorrow
Came in the normal Ready Post Bubble Mailer, with blue ink scribbled addresses. The CD casing was nice, but being from ‘99 and quite obviously a self-release, it didn’t have any of the fancy that CDs of now-a-days are forced to use in attempts to not completely make physical music releases obsolete. But the little attention to details throughout the design and writing housed in the casing was pleasant.
“Long Play 500 R.P.M.” & “Unauthorised copying or lending illegal but fun.” to spout out a few.
They definitely kept with the 60’s-ish pop sort of style that their music follows in suit.
But the nicest surprise was the torn corner piece of paper inscribed with the following:
JAMES! Please enjoy these old songs from our misspent youths. And Thanks! Adam
No Adam, Thank You.
I also just got done watching Dr. Strangelove. One of Kubrick’s best i feel.
And i’m kind of touchy with him.
But i really did enjoy this one.
Hoot! Out!
Annie Hall.

So i wanted to get a Woody Allen film seeing as how i haven’t really seen any of his movies, and everyone seems to make such a todo about him. I wanted in on some of this todo.
So Netflix threw me Annie Hall. And let me say what an absolute treat it was.
I’m not sure if it’s Woody Allen just yet or a good love story, but i loved it. The story telling was wonderful and interaction with the audience was classic.
I look forward to future movies with Mister Allen, and would encourage others to Netflix this one once or twice.
Any recommendations for what should be next from his repertoire?
